What will the doctor ask?
Are you worried?

Are you calling about an appointment?

Has something changed?
  • Is your child acting differently? Is your child very sleepy or slow? Is your child weak? Is your child unconscious? Is your child very upset or restless? Does your child talk or cry differently?
  • Is your child’s breathing different? Do you hear a strange sound when your child breathes? Is your child breathing very fast? Is your child short of breath? Do the nostrils move when your child breathes? Does your child sometimes stop breathing?
  • Has your child’s skin color changed? Is your child pale or gray? Does your child have blue-purple spots? Is your child turning blue?
Does your child have a fever?

We call it a fever if your body temperature is 38°C or higher twice within the same hour. If it is above 38.5°C in one measurement, it is also considered a fever.

What medication does your child take?

Keep your child's medication list ready?
