About childhood cancer

Every year, approximately 600 children in the Netherlands are diagnosed with cancer. Since 2018, all children with cancer in the Netherlands are treated in one pediatric oncology center: the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht. Experts that span the entire spectrum of childhood cancer are centered here under one roof.

We are eager to share our expertise with you here because we can well imagine the number of questions you will have if your child has been diagnosed with or is suspected of having cancer. What exactly is cancer? How does a child get cancer? What forms of cancer are there and what are the chances of being cured? We will explain all this and more in this communication.
