Prof. dr P. (Peter) Hoogerbrugge

I work as a pediatric oncologist for children with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia (ALL). As the chairperson for the international committee for ‘Resistant and Recurrent ALL' in the European IBFM group, I support research into and the treatment of children with recurrent ALL. In the Netherlands, I coordinate the treatment of children with recurrent ALL as chairman of the recurrent ALL protocol committee. For the best treatment of children with recurrent ALL, we collaborate closely with the research groups at the Máxima Center and internationally.

In addition to good health care and research, I consider it very important that well-trained and motivated colleagues will contribute in the future to the further improvement of health care and research within pediatric oncology. That's why I'm glad to teach students both inside and outside the Máxima/UMCU, and why I contribute to the training of fellows in pediatric oncology as a deputy trainer.
