The volunteers

At the Princess Máxima Center, you’ll meet many volunteers. They support children and parents in various ways, provide distraction, and take work off the hands of staff. There are Máxima volunteers and volunteers from our partner organizations.

You can recognize the Máxima volunteers by their blue vests. They help you find your way around the Máxima, give tours, and accompany children and parents to and from the WKZ/UMC Utrecht. They organize play and craft activities but also assist with language and integration lessons, for example.

The volunteers from our activity partners provide distraction, helping to reduce stress.

The parent support volunteers from the Dutch National Childhood Cancer Association and the volunteers from Villa Joep offer peer support, recognition, guidance, and a listening ear. KIKA also has volunteers who provide information.
