Tips for when visiting the Princess Máxima Center

  • You too can participate in all the activities that the hospital has to offer!
  • You are also very welcome in places like the teen lounge (where you can chill out or play games) and the discovery corner (where you can learn about your brother's or sister's illness).
  • You can get in touch with other brothers and sisters online via Op Koers Online, where you can chat six times with them and share your feelings. Click here for more information (in Dutch).
  • The Dutch Childhood Cancer Association also organizes activities for brothers and sisters.
  • There are psychologists at the Princess Máxima Center who you can talk to. They are there for the whole family, including you as the brother or sister of a patient. You can talk to them if you are worried about something or if you feel out of sorts. They are good at listening and giving tips. Would you like to talk to a psychologist? Ask your parents to make an appointment for you.
  • If you have any questions, you can always ask your brother's or sister's doctor or nurse. You can even make your own appointment with them.
