MIBG therapy

Children with a particular form of neuroblastoma receive MIBG treatment. This treatment links radioactive iodine to the MIBG protein. This protein transports radioactive iodine through the blood to the tumor and irradiates it in situ.

During MIBG treatment, your child is nursed in isolation for five to seven days.

You can read more about this treatment in the following two brochures: MIBG treatment and The radioactive treatment room. Please note both brochures are currently only available in Dutch,

The radioactivity in your child's body does not cease immediately after treatment. That is why you must adhere to a few rules for a while once back at home. You can read more about these rules in the brochure entitled Home rules after radiotherapy.

Should you need any further information, please feel free to ask.
