New Electronic Patient Record (EPR)

An electronic patient record is a software application in which patient medical data is stored. This way, healthcare providers such as doctors or nurses can view and use this data.

As a parent or child, you also have access to your own electronic patient record via the patient portal. There you can, among other things, view appointments, supplement data, view the medication overview and read results.

The new electronic patient record is a standardized system that is easier and more efficient to use. It is also easier to share data with other healthcare institutions. We only do this if necessary and after permission from the child or parent(s). In this way, healthcare becomes safer. A standard system is also cheaper to maintain and keep up to date.

No, we will close the patient portal on Thursday morning, February 29 at 7:00 am. The patient portal will be available again from Saturday, March 2.

For the time being, you can only view a summary of consultation reports. This is a temporary situation that is expected to last until the end of April/mid-May. Afterwards, all consultation reports can be viewed in full again. You can view the summaries of consultation reports and information about medications and patient letters from March 2.

It is good to know that consultation reports absolutely do NOT disappear. Due to the transition to the new electronic patient record, they are temporarily not visible to parents and children, but ARE visible to healthcare providers. So if you need more than just the information in the summary, ask the healthcare provider to show this and possibly forward it to you.

You will temporarily not be able to view lab results from March 2. These can be viewed again via the portal from the end of March. You can of course request them from the practitioner. We apologize for the inconvenience.

You can send questions to your child's practitioner or the pharmacy via the patient portal with an e-consult until Sunday February 25. From February 25 to March 3, you can ask questions to the practitioners and pharmacy by email to the following email addresses:

To ensure that the introduction of the EPR also runs smoothly in the emergency department (ED), the ER of the UMC Utrecht is partially closed on February 29 and March 1. This poses no danger to patients.

Children who are being treated or need to be treated in the Princess Máxima Center and who require acute care are welcome at the emergency department (ED) of the UMC Utrecht. As usual, this is at the discretion of the doctors involved.

If acute care can also be provided in another hospital, children can go to hospitals in the region. This applies to new children and also to children who are known to the Princess Máxima Center.

Yes, we have a very large occupancy. The pediatric oncologists at service also sleep in the center that night.

Once the new electronic patient record is live, you will no longer receive invitations for appointments in the WKZ/UMC Utrecht via us, but directly via the WKZ/UMC Utrecht .

As stated in previous news items, the MyMáxima app will no longer be available from February 29. We will be switching completely to the new patient portal from March 2. You will still receive the appointments and appointment information by e-mail from the planning office. We are working on making them visible in the patient portal from March 2. Until March 1, 2024 we used Webcamconsult to make video calling possible. After March 1, we will switch to Teams as an application. As usual, you will receive a link from the planning office for the video calling appointment. You will then go directly to the waiting room of your practitioner/care professional instead of having to click on the name of the person you have an appointment with. You will receive a new link for most scheduled video calling appointments. If you do not receive a new link, continue to use the link that has already been sent.
