Agreement integration SKION/Máxima Center

On December 8, Gita Gallé, board of directors of the Princess Máxima Center and Hanneke de Ridder, director of SKION, signed an agreement. This states that SKION (Netherlands Society of Pediatric Oncology) will definitively transfer to the Princess Máxima Center in January 2021.

Together with the VKN, SKION was the initiator of what eventually became the Princess Máxima Center. After the actual relocation of SKION to Utrecht in 2018, with associated facilities and people, the switch is now sealed with the formal integration within our center. All knowledge and expertise is now pooled in the Máxima Center. Gita and Hanneke summarize the agreement: ‘This is truly crowning the passionate work of many people over many years.’

SKION will continue to exist as an independent party to establish the pediatric oncology treatment protocols. SKION therefore remains a platform for professionals in pediatric oncology.
