The Children's Comfort Team comprises medical, nursing, pedagogical, psychosocial and spiritual specialists. The team supports and guides your child and your family and ensures uninterrupted hospital and home care.
The Children's Comfort Team not only ensures continuity of care, but also close coordination between you and the care providers at home and in the hospital. The team also listens carefully to your wants and expectations. In this way, your child receives personalized care and unnecessary hospitalization is avoided.
If you would like the Children's Comfort Team's support or guidance, please contact the Princess Máxima Center's KCTU team.
The team will always contact the parent(s) if it turns out that a child cannot be cured.

Definition in IKNL quality framework, 2017:
Palliative care is care that improves the quality of life of children and their loved ones in the face of a life-threatening condition or vulnerability, by preventing and alleviating suffering, by means of early diagnosis and careful assessment and treatment of problems of a physical, psychological, social and spiritual nature. During the course of the disease or vulnerability, palliative care focuses on maintaining autonomy, access to information and choice.
Pediatric palliative care requires a multidisciplinary approach.
