Drinking water update – temporary solution

During a recent inspection of the drinking water in the Utrecht region, Vitens found bacteria (enterococci). A temporary solution is now in place at the Máxima Center: clean drinking water is being pumped into the building from a large water tank. This allows care at the Máxima Center to continue as usual. This temporary measure will remain in effect at least on Monday and Tuesday.

Update Sunday 2 November, 5:45 p.m.

Children and parents at the Máxima Center can safely use the tap water again. All appointments and treatments will continue as planned.

Good to know if you are at the Máxima Center:
  • The supply of drinking water is limited. Please use water consciously.
  • You can shower again, but try not to take long showers.
  • Kettles and instant coffee are available on all care units.
  • The event with Claudia de Breij on Monday, November 3, will go ahead in a simplified form. If you registered but do not have appointments at the Máxima Center on Monday, please follow the event online. Parents with children who do have appointments at the center on Monday are still welcome to attend.

We will keep you informed of further developments through this website. If your child has any symptoms or if you’re worried, please contact us through the usual channels.
