Are you being treated at the Princess Máxima Center? You can download M4you on your smartphone or tablet. At this moment, the app is only available in Dutch. More languages will be added in the future.
Child in control
'A child should just be able to be a child. This is important to us at the Máxima Center. Through M4you, children can have digital contact with each other, even when they cannot leave their room or when they are not in the Máxima Center,' says Machteld Burema, project leader of M4you. 'We are extremely happy that M4you is live as of today. We find it important to support the development of children, precisely because the treatment of childhood cancer is very intensive and has a lot of impact. M4you contributes to this: children are in control and make their own choices in the app.
Seeing and doing in M4you
Children hear from healthcare professionals about their illness, treatment and their stay in the Máxima Center. With M4you, children now have online access to this information and can choose how they want to see it: through text, images, or in 3D. This way they can get grip on important information. The app is only accessible to children who are being treated in the Máxima Center. Children can make a request; within 24 hours they will receive an email with which they can create an account in M4you.
In M4you, children can...
- connect with peers and find buddies with the same interest(s)
- sign up for activities
- create an avatar of themselves and the treatment team
- see what they can do in the Máxima Center
- read about treatments, procedures and what happens inside the body
